9/20, Per. 4 ELA PLC

Agenda:

Goals--Scholars:
     What goals are we using?
     How are we assessing?
     How will we shift to CCSS?

Goals--Teacher:
     What is our focus for this year? What do we want scholars to come away with?
     (Vocabulary?)
     How will we do this?

Protocols for looking at student work (during PLC):
     Who?
     Why?
     For what purpose?

Protocols for looking at lesson plans:
     Standard frame work?
    
Protocols for looking at assessments:
     Rigor
     Alignment
     Over-lap vs. Scaffolding

    8W: voice, meaning, structure, RD, conventions
    Using Rubrics, goal components going forward PROGRESSION...old work out while working on new.
    8R: acuity to monitor ability to apply HPR

    Running Records:
    logistics Maley & Garz will work together
    pull students as necessary during group
    work
    Shift to CCSS:
    the shift has begun

    Goals--Teacher:
    Vocabulary? 6th grade is using this goal across grade level, can we duplicate in ELA?
    Split R & W:
    W: Grammar
    R: Inferencing
    **use of acquity to evaluate, assess and monitor

    Rubric dicussion:
    Weighted vs. Straight Math
    How we are writing the rubric (1=65 or 1=fail)
    Alignment with state standards & Language
    Alignment with state style (universal vs. task specific)
